MDU Resources Director Sister Thomas Welder To Retire

MDU Resources Group, Inc.(MDU Resources) has announced that Sister Thomas Welder plans to retire from its board effective April 27, 2010 and she will not stand for re-election at the company's 2010 annual meeting of stockholders.

Harry J. Pearce, chairman of MDU Resources board, said: "Sister Thomas' contributions during her remarkable 22 years as a board member have been invaluable to the successful implementation of our diversified business strategy and the growth that it has produced. We thank Sister Thomas for her extraordinary contributions, and for helping ensure that as our company grew we have remained true to our core value of integrity and to our commitment to shareholders, employees, customers and the communities in which we operate. We will miss her counsel and the work of a true servant leader."

Yokogawa Receives Control Systems Contract For Coal-Fired Power Plant In Vietnam

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that its subsidiary Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte. Ltd. has received a contract from LILAMA Corporation to supply control systems and instrumentation for the Vung Ang 1 power plant, which is being built for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam). The contract is estimated to be worth $16.6 million.

Siemens to Provide Long-Term Maintenance Service for Nhon Trach 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant in Vietnam

Five months after being awarded the contract of the Power Island for Nhon Trach 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP), which consists of two gas turbines, one steam turbine, the generators, the main electrical and instrumentation and controls equipment, Siemens Energy has been entrusted by Petro Vietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 Joint Stock Co. to provide the long-term maintenance service for the major equipment in this power plant in the south of Vietnam.

World's First 24-kV Vacuum Circuit-Breaker for Generator Switching Applications Carries 6300A Without Forced Cooling

With the 3AH37 Siemens Energy is bringing to the marketplace the world's first vacuum circuit-breaker for high generator ratings, which can permanently carry an operating current of 6300A without forced cooling up to an operating voltage of as much as 24kV. The circuit-breaker can also handle short-circuit currents up to 63kA.
